A Study in Pink: Young Women & Breast Cancer

In collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies and Gilead Sciences, BCF produced a survey-based report on the perspectives of 800 women aged 18–40 in Singapore.

What do young women in Singapore really know, and do, about their breast health?

Breast cancer has long been associated with older women. Still, today, more women under 45 are being diagnosed, often facing unique challenges related to their health, careers, family planning and emotional well-being. Early detection is critical: it not only improves treatment outcomes, but can also mean less invasive procedures and faster recovery.

Our findings reveal a significant action gap, alongside gaps in awareness and knowledge. At the same time, many young women expressed a willingness to learn more about breast health and to normalise conversations around it.
